Get to Know Sheryl
Sheryl Adams is an accomplished leader, business executive and entrepreneur. She has held high level executive positions at top-tier companies such as General Motors, Ford Motor Company, GE Capital, and Hyundai. A trailblazer in the automotive industry, Sheryl is known as a leader, strategic planner, and visionary. During her time at General Motors, Sheryl was a founder of the technology and national implementation of “OnStar”. “Connected vehicles” use this technology as commonplace today; implemented in both retail and commercial applications on our roadways improving safety and efficiency.
Considered a global leader in technology within the automotive industry, today Sheryl is an executive with a division of the Hyundai Corporation headquartered in Orange County, California.
Sheryl is a distinguished member and panelist of the U.S. Congressional Smart Cities Caucus. In this role she collaborates with technology and community leaders throughout the country to help local governments manage resources to provide better and improved services in more economical ways.
Sheryl has spent years actively engaged as an advocate for her community and neighbors. She generously volunteers with Interfaith Shelter for Homeless, Torrey Pines Conservancy, Torrey Pines Planning Board, the San Diego Humane Society and CalFire's "First 50" equine rescue group. She also serves as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Peter’s, Del Mar.
In her personal time, Sheryl is an avid hiker, swimmer and can be found in a wetsuit, boogie boarding as often as possible. She loves entertaining in her home and truly makes the most of all Southern California has to offer. Above all, she takes immense pride in being an adoptive mother to her nephew, whose adoption journey has profoundly shaped her character and instilled her unwavering faith in God.
